The 2013 season is fast approaching and it's time to get started on recruiting, paperwork and begging for money. The season will be starting March 17th and ending with the State Championships on May 11th and 12th. The All-Star Game will most likely be held on May 19th. All scheduled league games are on Sunday. However, each team will be asked to schedule two games with assigned opponents. These games may be played during any day of the week, anytime between March 17th and May 5th.
In order to keep up on all that's happening, you should start by going to slua.org. from there you can click on "high school" Also be sure to go to "forum" and join the"juniors" forum.
In order to have your practices and games sanctioned (and to participate in this league) you must do the following:
A. Email Chris and let him know you plan to participate, and indicate where your team will be competitively. (You could do this now)

. Every team who hopes to compete should do this.
B. Have each player register with USA Ultimate (usaultimate.org). Each player will need to pay a $30 fee

C. Complete an online roster for your team. Assign your team to sluj spring league 2013.

D. Have all players pay a $10 league fee to SLUJ (You can mail them to me, or bring them to the Coaches Meeting)
E. For all USA Ultimate events, one* USA Ultimate approved chaperone is required for each team with a player under the age of 18. The chaperone must be listed on the team roster. An approved chaperone is an individual who:

has a USA Ultimate account (no membership required);

has completed a USAU liability waiver;

is 21 or older;

has completed a background screening through the National Center for Safety Initiatives and received a "green light" (This process takes 2-10 days and is good for two years.).

F. Coach collects (and brings to each game) medical authorization form.
G. Order forms for jerseys should be submitted by the coaches meeting in order to receive the jerseys by the first game. However, jerseys can be ordered at any time during the season to take advantage of the league discount. Jersey orders are optional. These forms can be found under "sluj files" under the high school tab on the website.
***All Rosters must be updated online prior to February 26th. Our coaches meeting will be February 20th, 7:00 pm at Guidos.
